Just bought my son a very nice 1997 Mercury Cougar 4.6 v8, only has 80k miles and looks brand new inside. The car runs and drives great. The service engine light came on, owner drove it to Autozone, they could not get the code checker to read the car. Any one know why we can't read the codes? We did make sure all the fuses were good.
