Right now I am working just learning the ropes as a criminal investigator with the IRS (no its not fucking with taxes and shit) we work primerily with the FBI. In Fall I will be going into the Federal Academy for 6month traning and then be working full time with the IRS doing the same thing.
Dude it is a great job. It is a little tough to go to school while working but if you get hooked up with a friendly schedual you can handle it. Most places will send you threw a 6month night academy or a 4month day academy and you will collect your salary while in recieving your training. The only reason I left is because I went back to school full time to try to recieve a Federal job. I loved it it is a stressful job and thankless but there is something gradifing about knowing that you are protecting people. And its not like you have to drasticly change your lifestlye to take the job just look at me. Nobody could believe that I was. Just realize that it will change your outlook on a lot of things. You become extremly desencitized towards a lot of things. Overall I think it is an awsome life experance and would recomend it to anyone interested as long as they can handle that sort of life stlye. Just know that your work schedual is subject to a lot more hours then it looks like. Those 3 12hr shifts turn into 20 hour shifts when you have to make an arrest or if you have to go to court on you off days. But who gives a shit when you are making time and half.
