having problemsss :(

i need help.
my buddys mustang sat for about to years
hes been running it for about a week aldry and we decide to clean the bay and we did. the car starts fine and runs ok til u get on it. it starts to bog and hestiate
as if it was bad fuel? but i got filled up this morning and ran okay till he got to my house. we found a losse hose and put in back in place and the car ran better but still has its bogs

would anyone noe wats goin on?

Have you guys done a tune up on it yet? Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, oil change, all that good stuff? If that's eliminated and the bogging issue is kind of sporadic, you could look into the distributor possibly.

The bogging issue though, does it run fine, then when he gets on it, it hesitates then jerks and goes?

Sorry, I guess I assume any Mustang has a distributor.

That hesitation/jerky motion could definitely be caused by the fuel filter being clogged up. Easy, 10 dollar part, 10 minute job.

List more details about the car for people to help. How did you guys clean the bay? Hose or spray bottle/rags? Did you disconnect anything that may not be hooked back up right?

Water on the outside of a distributor that is warm causes water droplets inside the cap. Dry it and clean/shine the terminals. Clean the ponits with a file if it has points. Reset the dwell and timing.-Bob
