I think we have had the stock suspension and slicks debate before. You can do it but dont expect your car to be the model of structural integrity. Ive been this route with a Fox before. My roof buckled my torque boxes looked like shit and I am sure the car was twisted. Then I got smart and went the full suspension route. 1.7 60 times with a 99 Cobra convert (took out the IRS) on 17 Cobra Rs and drag radials. And you can beat the snot out of it all day and never worry about turning your Mustang into a rippled pretzle. Just thought that should be said.

My theory on my car is that it was a Wednesday car. In other words assembled on Wednesday the best day for a car to be built.
Anyway I like more bottom end. Less chance to break something in the motor with less horsepower and less rpms. Just have to worry about breaking driveline stuff with more torque but those parts are much cheaper to fix than motor parts.

Hey one fast...I said I think In my experience with the two fox chassis cars I owned..they span tires...I don;t doubt what can be done..but mine liked to spin..I would have gladly given up some power down low to trade it back up top

1.36 60 times with a stock type suspension (adjustable uppers chassis engineering lowers reinforced torque boxes subframes)
Car has no more dents/wrinkles than what it had when I first bought it.

Condsider yourself lucky Scott. After working at Race Related for over a year I had to work on many a Fox that was put through the same punishment you put yours through and they were not pretty. Its bad when you look under the car for the customer and then immideately go for the welder.

Hey Tony and you can read mine were I said why does everyone think that...All I know is anyone wants to look at my short times in the quick list forum they are more then welcome and that is with bone stock suspension.
also in a few months I will be running in a stock suspension class and plan to be running well into the 1.4 short times.
for under $500 mine will be hooking almost as good as a 4link.
