Hey does anyone know how tall of a tire can go on the new body style mustangs. I want to put a 28x10.5 but am not sure if that is too tall. I know for a fact that 26x10.5 will fit because that was what I ran with slicks but there seemed to be some room there. This is for stock ride height.

I see no reason you cant run 28 tall tires. I run 26 tires with stock ride height and have plenty of room for a bigger tire.

Should fit but dont forget a 28 inch tire will take away some of your gear. So your e.t.s will not translate the same from your street tire to your slick. However the car will launch more consistantly with a 28 inch tire.

Just keep that in mind.

With a 28 tire u have to remove your quadshock(or flip it cant remember). Other than that u should be fine. However if its over 10.5(I think) u have to bend the lip on the inside of fenderwell. The difference is a 28 tire will have alot more tire growth on the high end. On paper it equates to about a 500rpm difference. -Mark

Thanks guys I have my wheels coming in Fri. and picked up 28x10.5 so I will let everyone know how they fit.

They fit perfect dont have to roll the lip or anything. I forgot my digi so I could post up some picks. I will do it Mon.

Just remember the gear ratio loss and different rpms when you go through the traps.

Yeah but I figure everything is going to be differant anyway and this would be the best way to get consitant launches. What it is doing through the trap is not a major concern launching that bitch is. My street tires are also the same size as the drag tires so that wont be any adjustment there.
