Default stupid question!!!!!!

i know it may be a stupid question but, does my o2 sensors in my 5.0 have to be connected and in place to get my engine started? the reason im asking is because i pulled the engine out and removed the old exhaust. and now the engine is back in and im waiting on a set of longtube headers to install. the stock shorty headers are on and i was wondering if i could start it for the heck of it since its been sitting for a while........

On MAF cars the MAF and TPS are enough to run the engine,.. it will just be in open loop and never go closed loop. A little rich,.. but not that extreme. Wont even be any dark smoke unless you romp on the gas. Would be just like running the car in limp mode.

well i got it running with the o2 sensors but one of them is messed up so that might explain the smoke, but the thing that im wondering is the high idle..............cant seem to find the source of that problem!!!!!!!!!

Leaking EGR? Who knows.

When the idle is high on your Holley how do you adjust it Shaun? I just use 1 little screw driver,.. no need for a scanner/tuner or checking the voltage on my TPS or other sensors to make sure they are working correctly.

Just joking,.

A little carb vs EFI humor there,.. dont take it personally OP.
