Default 96 n up 4.6 msd question

i have a digital dis-4 ,msd ignition adapters an msd coils, came with the car uninstalled..... can i expect anything noticeable on her 97gt, its also a turd automatic, we are not planning on doing anything other than exhaust, cold air, and maybe gears, is it a waist of time? should i just sell the setup

I have doubled the hp on my 97 and I am nowhere near needing the msd stuff. The stock stuff is good until you are making huge numbers (what I have been told). The best mod you can do to this car is an offroad x pipe or offroad Hpipe and get mil eliminators (malfunction indicator lights). These keep the check engine lights from coming on when you dont have cats. Your car has 4 cats on it from the factory. Intake is good too. Just remember this is one of the slowest mustangs made in recent history. If you anna go fast you have to get rid of the heads that came on her but it gets pricey. Your bodystyle is called a sn95. SN95 Mustang Community Cobra SVT GT Saleen Roush 3.8 5.0 4.6 | SN95Forums is a good place to start learing the ins and outs of your car.

For the mods that you have planned.....sell the msd setup to pay for them.

The stock ignition system is suprisingly efficient on these cars.

thats the extent i was thinking,i guess ill throw it online an sell the stuff, i need a msd setup for our bucket so ill use the money for that................ ive had a good 10-12 mustangs , its the 4.6 i know nothing about, it was a disappointment going for the first drive, ive been in several 94-95 cars which feel heavy but they have the low end the 4.6 seems to lack, im heading more towards a fun sporty car for the wife.....ive done the off road pipe , flowmasters,an cold air intake, threw some wheels on it, its a 66k mile convertible that was just driven easy, the mom gave the car as of recent to her 30yr old son, who had it only for a couple months, he knew nothing about cars what so ever, he purchased the msd stuff from someone that was trying to make some money off of him...anyway....thanks again

No sell it. A buddy of mine had put msd setup on his 96 gt and it was still slow. Buy some PI heads.
