Default Smoke and miss when cold but fine when hot

I just picked up graves car... it smokes white and misses when cold but once its up to 180degrees it runs fine.

When its about 160-170* it is comes and goes. when it was cold it seemed to go away somtimes under heavy throttal.

No smoke on startup.

Only seems to be coming from the right Bank.
From my knowledge it seems the only answer is broken rings or ring land on atleast one cylinder... Caused by nitrous.

Im gonna do a compression test this weekend and see what comes up.
Really just looking for ideas that i wouldnt think of.

General rule of thumb when it comes to smoke: If it's blue, it's usually oil. If it's black, it's rich. If it's white, then it's usually water or lean. Compression test will tell a lot more about the problem. You CAN figure out which cyl is missing by pulling one plug wire at a time....That would give you your suspect cyl right away.....But I'm not a tech.

White smoke is usually an indicator of a coolant issue

Although at times the differance between blue (oil) and white (coolant) is hard to tell.

Hows the coolant level? Stayin full?

I litterly just brought the car home today.

It may be coolant smoke because it is very white. I will check the coolant when I get home and the oil. If it's just head gaskets I'll get valvesprings for my gt40ps and bolt them on.

I just took the car out for a drive again... it was down to about 130* started up rain fine... no smoke no miss at all.

Took it out for a <5 mile drive no problems... got back home had the ever so slight hint of a miss.

Coolant level was fine, Oil level and color is good.

I did notice that it has a dry shot not a wet shot like i thought... so if it was sprayed 75-100 shot dry it was probably pretty lean.

Still kind of thinking Rings...

No smoke on start up means its not valve seals.
I checked all the plug wires and they are all good.

If it was a head gasket i dont think it would go away like it has .... im getting lost with this one.

Just cause it is a dry shot doesn't mean it ran lean.

Dry shots are just as safe as wet shots if setup properly.

Right i understand that, it has the Little blue things made my NOS, i dont know what its called but its hooked up to the FPR. from the little info i could find on it its to add pressure to the fpr to raise pressure.

As long as its adding enough fuel to be safe ill leave it alone but i need to get a wideband on it. Plus my buddy has all the stuff to tune these so thats basicly free for me.

Im gonna dig into it more tomarrow evening or over the weekend. Im just lost at this point since it hasnt smoked yet again.

If you suspect water/coolant, pressurize the cooling system with a manual pump when cold and see if any liquid shows up in the cylinders on that bank with the plugs removed. If it doesn't hold pressure it's going somewhere.
