Question Need Some Help...

Have any of you heard of Tech1 Engine Installers in Tampa?

I brought my 90 mustang 5.0 to them last Friday so that they could take the old motor out and put a lower mileage 89 gt motor in. They came with the tow truck, I signed the agreement, and paid a $600 deposit (the cost of the 89 GT motor was $600), it was supposed to be done Monday.

Today is Wednesday, and it's looking like it still won't be done, although this morning I was told it would be today. They said the delay is due to getting the wrong motor mounts twice, and the wrong speedometer cable once (I needed to replace the speedometer cable).

Is this normal? Am I being too anxious here? Any help would be appreciated!

Never heard of them. Did they at least use Vaseline?

What was wrong with the old motor mounts? I'm sure it happens but I've never had a motor mount go bad. I've swapped them out for solid mounts but not because they were bad. Speedo cable should have nothing to do with getting your motor swapped.

But how many 8.8 ring and.... Nevermind.

OP, hope everything works out well. For future reference, hit up the TR shops here. They (seem to ) know what they're doing.

They supplied the low mile GT engine? Did you see this engine? Have you gone to see your car in the last few days?

. For the price fuleie charges, I would put him up against any shop on this site.....PERIOD. Kinda like being Steeda or UPR parts, they both do the same, one just costs more than the other because of a name. He's not a backyard ,wrench turning, parts changer either, he makes his living a mechanic. He works for a shop and has a shop of his own for side money.

OP disappeared

I know, I was just referencing the thread about the gears. I've heard good things about fuelie, and meant no disrespect.

Any oil leaks, that get on the rubber motor mounts will make them go bad.
