I have never been to an NMRA event but from the people I see running in the NMRA I would say NMRA. It true is where the big dogs run.
FFW is very fun I had a blast the past two years that I went and plan on going at least one day this year in Orlando.

The same cars pretty much run Pro 5.0 in FFW and in NMRA.
FFW has been around for a long time and has pretty much established the Mustang brand racing over the past decade.
NMRA has just come on board over the past few years and pretty much followed FFWs lead..
They seem to be doing pretty good with their program as well. But what really needs to happen is that Bill Alexander and James Lawrence need to get the chips off of their shoulders and work together to benefit the racer vs having a pissing match with the rules.

That was a hard choice but i rather see 2500lb plus cars go 6sec a 200mph runs thats a challenge.So you know where ill be 
plus the turbo sounds are smething I would like to hear everyday lol.(hint hint soooooon).I might race at ffw cuz there are not many cougars there and i heard they might do a special on them i d/k.Ohwell see you guyz and gurlz there look for my car if u go and just say hi 68red cougar(there arent gonna be like more than 2 there lol)
