Default Help with engine 5.0 mustang

Okay. Car runs awesome when you are "getting on the car" You don't even have to be under hard acceleration to make it run good.

Also, the idle is fine.

The problem I am having is when "crusing down the street" and doing minor acclerating the car cuts out for an instant like a split second. It sort of makes a "shaking forward and back motion." Very annoying. It seems it does this only when I change the accleration position very slightly. Also, seems to be emphasized in 5th gear..

Please help.

I just changed the fuel filter no hope.

to sum it up.

-car runs awesome under hard and medium accleration.
-engine sort of cuts out under just the slightest pedal movenment.

Please help.

Are you using AC?

Have you checked spark and fuel? Maybe alternator issue.

Car doesn't have ac so no.

How would you like me to check spark and fuel?

I changed the fuel filer.. and it gets fuel when acclerating...

What rpm are you at when it happens? My car used to do the same thing until Shaun from All American told me I'm probably just bogging the car down with too low rpms. Started shifting a bit higher, and stopped cruising in 5th gear at 25-30 mph, and the studder went away completely.

1500..

I haven't changed my style of driving in the 3 years I had the ride..

I cruise in 5th gear at around 45mph...

It's just weird cause when I get on it it runs fine so I don't know about the spark or fuel.. Unless I am missing something..

I don't think mine ever did it while in 5th at 45. It was always 5th gear below 40 or so that it would do it. I'm going to watch this thread though, because I'm just as curious as you are now.

bigger then stock cam and you having the rpm to low.if you have aftermarket cam, it idles lopey even at 1500rpm. si if you r driving at 45 mph and its only at 1500 rpm its going to make it buck back and fourth.

Stock fuel injected? Dirty maf, IAC, tps needs adjusted could be a few things... o2 sensors even. Have it put on a good scanner and they can check readings pretty quick.
