Default 351w with forged pistons

Did they ever produce a Windsor with forged pistons? I'm hoping so

Not that I'm aware of. They were not really used as performance motors. Mainly as corporate motors in trucks and full size cars.

Back in the day, I got my hands on a 351W 4V, out of a 69 Mach 1. I dont think it even had forged pistons. It was the hot one too, with 300 hp.

If anything had them this was probly the only thing once I started to think about it. But not much chance of finding a low miler one to throw together till big motor was done, O-well

I thought the lightnings did also, but googling says no.

You may not be able to find a lightning short block but theres a windsor in a 94-96 bronco in LKQ... Next best thing, cause i believe the rods were drop forged but the pistons were cast. You're gonna punch it out anyway... And those are roller motors too.

I was looking for a stock forged bottom and do what Frank did, drop something in and go. I have a shortblock lined up for rebuild. Looks like I'll jus have to hold of till I can put the good one together...no worries, one day

There were no factory 351w I know of that had forged pistons.....

The 90's Lightnings had hyperutetic pistons, I can verify that they take quite a bit of abuse thought..... They have a nice sized dish in them for a boosted application too.....

I'll let you in on something, my motor has factory hyper's(stock).....
