Shooting a person is not like shooting a target. He isn't wrong. And shooting in a crowded room isn't like shooting at a shooting range.

You ever fired a gun indoors without ear protection before? Shit ain't like the movies, man.

 

The guy who drove in and began shooting did not have a problem landing targets and he was about as untrained as you can get. Just saying something is harder than something else adds nothing to an argument. I can say stuff too (takes the argument no where). If you break into my house I will have no problem killing you. As a mater of fact, there is far less drama with an obviously dead criminal than one that needs medical attention.

yes I have fired a gun inside without ear protection. I rarely use ear protection and yes im sure that ups my chances of death by ninja. The loudest is inside a car with the windows up but you have to be some kind of uncoordinated to miss from that range.

 

First, I have no idea if this lady can shoot or not. I don't even know who she is.

Second, I am not against carrying a gun. Even though I advocate empty hand self defense, I do NOT try to tell people not to carry.

Third, This guy came into a crowded room full of people and started shooting. Hell, I can drop people in a crowded room too. It isn't rocket science and it doesn't take a sniper to do it when the room is crowded.

Fourth, It is a proven FACT that shooting a person IS more difficult than shooting a target. Ask anyone who has seen action in Iraq.

And finally, I don't make any money on my martial arts classes. Don't believe me? You're welcome to see my bank statement. I currently have $9 in my bank, and $60 in my pocket. Yes, I charge for my classes, but I offered for you to come by for FREE to see what we do. and you still want to sit here and spout off. At least BAMF is willing to try to work something out to see for himself if what I have to offer, holds water, or if it's going to be full of holes.

I'm not going to get rich teaching self defense. In fact, I only charge $45 per month for my classes. Do the math....My rent is $1100, and I currently only have 10 students. Of those 10 students, only 2 are adults. I don't teach gun disarms to kids....

You said that "Statistically speaking, unless your attacker has some kinda grudge against you, you won't get shot." This is not necissarily true. I have a tenant at the storage facility I work at in the day that got shot in the head less than a month ago. A guy walked up to his face and started yelling at him. The bad guy's friend came up behind my tenant, put a .22 to the base of the back of his skull, and fired. No warning, just shot him in the back of the head. They took his wallet, and his friends wallet. $40 total between them. His mistake? He allowed himself to be distracted by the assailant in front of him and did not pay attention to his surroundings. Now, this tenant, says that he is coming in to train with us when he gets full mobility of his legs back. The Dr's figure about 6 months or so.

Ever hear of the statitian that drowned in the river that was statisticaly only 4 inches deep? Most of the river WAS only 4-6 inches deep...but this one section in the middle was 20 ft deep. And it was a sudden ledge. So he drown. Poor exaqmple I know, but you're a smart guy, so I think you get the picture.

The majority of self defense is paying attention to one's surroundings.

 

I am not interested in self defense but thanks for the class offer. I feel I can adequatly defend my self.
I would be interested in a mma class to get in shape and build some better attacks but I find most of the schools are about kids and money. I need a class with adults as I am large and strong.

 

Now THIS I can respect. I'm going to PM you if you are honestly interested in MMA, I may be able to point you in the right direction. (even if it may not involve my school)
