On my 93 5.0 yesterday my car again fluttered but this time the check engine light came on and I noticed that with the key in the on position the fuel pump would not shut off, I know that they cycle with the key on for about 15 secs and then turn off till you go to full start cranking. So maybe my problem is fuel related? Today it runs fine till who knows. the engine light is also off. Bad relay?

 

i would try replacing the relay and being that its been raining alot this kind of lil crap will happen

 

Does this car already have a chip installed? If you say no, have you personally seen the back of the PCM to confirm this? If not, a 10mm and a 5/32 socket will get you there in a few minutes to be sure.

That is one of the very few things that can cause that to happen.
