smoked headlights ?
do these just have a tinted film over them or is the lens itself actually tinted?? checking some out on ebay but it doesnt say. i asked the seller but no response yet. just curious if anyone here has a set and how they are holdin up.

there not illeagal here(ohio) because i was messing around with another 79...going down the road and we was street racing and after he quit i was still in front of him and spotted the covers....ive known some of my friends that had some on there vehicle and they seemed to hold up espcially after one of my buddys smaked his front end against a tree and both was still there

They are illegal.
State Statute - 316.220 - Every motor vehicle shall be equipped with atleast two headlamps with atleast one on each side of the front of the motor vehicle, which headlamps shall comply with requirements and limitations set forth in this chapter, and shall show a white light. An object, material, or covering that alters the headlamps light color may not be placed, displayed, installed, affixed, or applied over a headlamp.

They may be illegal but so are off road mid pipes. Never heard of anyone having in problems with those in FL. Besides... If they really need to bust some people for having incorrect lights then they need to start cracking down hard on ricers that have the blue headlights that seem to have about the same brightness as a damn spotlight. Thats more of a safety hazard IMO.
As for the smoked lights. I love em. I have a black car and they look really cool on them.
www.mustangtuning.com sells them and they sell a tint for the tail lights. They also have an article on resealing the silicone on new ones to make sure you dont have air holes so they dont collect condensation and whatnot.
