Default Some issues.

Alrighty guys.
I have some other issues that im currently dealing with.

The first is that my gauge cluster lights do not work. The odom
does not work but i knew that from the beginning. But the main gauge
cluster lights do not work at all. Its funny b/c the only lights that work are
the check engine, air bag, blinkers, e-brake, and brights work. (also when you
turn the dim knob all the way to when it clicks...the headliner light turns on..other then that. nothing.)

I was wondering. Lights bulbs in the cluster? or fuse. Iv checked the fuses but
could just be a bad one. But wanted to ask from some ppl if they had the same problems before.

The second question is..My transmission seems to make some noise alot when im in gear...mostly 1s & 2nd and im slowing down. seems like it is grinding in away..but all the gears and syncros are fine.

My friend was telling me about draining the gear oil and putting new gear oil in it to see if that solves it. Probably gonna do that sometime tomorrow.
But just wanted to check out some opinions.

Thank you guys/gals for any help at all.
Greatly Appreciate it.
Hope to hear from you all

What kind of car are you working with?
As far as the dash lights, there are several bulbs that light the gauges, not likely they all blew at once so I'd say fuse or headlight switch.
Transmission... how are you certain gears and syncros are good? Gear oil? If its a T-5 doesnt have any "gear oil" It uses different fluid

Gauge lights sounds like a bad head light switch. The coil that goes around it wears the copper contacts.

As for the tranny,.. hmmm. Pray,... Changing the fluid now is like changing the oil after developing a rod knock.

Dang lol i keep forgetting to mention my car. well its a completely stock 95 5.0. t-5 tranny and. well he was saying something about draining the fluids from my tranny and then putting new fluids in and adding lucas with it. and thanks about the gauge lights. Ill check into the headlight switch.

also..tranny issue a big deal? I drove the car from ft myers area to tampa and didnt really have any problems besides the check engine light that pop'd up but im thinking thats the o2 sensor.

Thanks for the feedback

GM synchro mesh is the best fluid out there IMO .

As far as the noise goes if it's noticeably loud there's not much you can do, the damage has already been done like said before.

Some fresh fluid might help the situation but I wouldn't bet on it solving the problem unfortunately...

Matter of time on the tranny, dont beat on it till you have a back up or ready to fix it. All the fluid is auto trans fluid. Most bottled by the same manufacturers

GNs-r-slow you beat me to it twice.

All T5's use ATF NOT gear lube! Rule of thumb....if the tranny use's carbon lined synchros (t5, t45, t56, 3650) its uses ATF if the tranny use's brass snychros it takes gear lube (3550, tko's)

Might be the input and/or output shaft bearings making some noise. Tranny's are hard to diagnose with out taking them apart usually. I would keep an eye on it, its probably getting towards the end.
