Thinking about getting a mustang..
Its a 2003 GT with 103k miles. How long do these motors hold up for? Are they good+reliable and what kind of power can i make with just simple bolt ons?

They are great. But, as with any car, you can have your choice of any two: Fast, Cheap, Reliable. Although, with a Mustang, it is easier to get an acceptable combination of all three than with most cars.

I have a 2002 GT with 140k miles on it. Never had a hiccup. I dont have any wierd fumes coming from the exhaust either. Clutch is fried but what do you expect from a factory clutch. The modulars are known for being exceptionaly reliable. If you include cams as bolt ons and have all the basics such as CAI, off road exhaust, tune, etc. you can expect around 300 rwhp usually. If the motor is worn and hasnt had the best maintenance then slightly less than that.

We'll like ya better w/a Mustang in your sig
Somwhere on YouTube there's a lil video for you to see what kind of power you can get with *just* bolt-ons... Race Related did the car, IIRC, and it put out like 321rwhp. See if I can find it...

Thanks for the info guys, i drove it last night and it seemed like a very solid car. It has 373 gears, 31 spline axles, ford racing diff. lock, bbk cold air intake, ford racing intake manifold, diablo sport tuner and flowmaster series 44 exhaust. (and a direct port NOS fogger system w/ progressive nitrous controller. So its got some nice stuff done to it already. Chances are i'll be getting it, and gettin rid of the 240.

Sounds like a nice platform to build on. A lot of the basic bolt ons are already done for you. Definately be happier with it than you will that 240. Much easier to make faster.

A good idea to hold onto is to not even think about buying another car until the money for your car your selling is changing hands. Too many times I have talked about getting other cars and things just dont go through and by the time they do then the car you want is gone.
