Weird question to ask you guys but considering I bought my car used from Brandon Ford and I got their extended warranty maybe some of you guys can tell me. I want to put some minor stuff on my car cat-back exhaust mainly for now but do you think they will allow me to do that and not void my warranty? Ive heard that headers will definitely void it so Im not even considering that for now. Just wondering thanks for any help. BTW I will be calling them tomorrow to ask.

Same here I got mine from Brandon Ford I have mufflers not a cat-back that does viod it cause I took my car in for check up nothing happen. Nothing can void the warranty unless Ford can prove that the part u installed caused the prob. Lets say you added some nitrous a lil to much and blew something well if they are smart enough nitrous would of caused that.

 

Exactly what HondaHunter said. you can put pretty much anything on you car and they will work on it I havent heard of anyone having a problem with headers voiding the warranty.

 

Thanks for the help guys. I guess Ill go easy and just put on a better muffler and an intake lid and see where that gets me.

 

the way the law is set up---anything that carries a C.A.R.B. number--which means it is emmisions legal for use---cannot by federal law void your warranty----- now the dealership could give you a hard time and all and worst case senario youd have to go to court to get it enforced.


most dealerships will not fuck with you unless the part was the cause of the problem

 

its called the Magnussun act. You may at any time upgrade parts and materials at which time ford will void that specific part of the warrantee as long as it can be proved that any problems were caused by said upgraded parts.
