Depends, what are you going to be doing with your car?

Blown or all out racing then typhoon.

Mildly modified then the GT-40 will be the one you want.

I disagree on that typhoon. it is a cheap chinese copy of the old edelbrock performer. everyone i've seen has a lot of casting flash and needs a serious cleanup inside. neither of them would be good for an all out drag racing motor imo. Gt 40 with a ported lower seems to work up around 400 to 450 hp.

I agree with Rick, the Typhoon is a knock-off part and not something I'd put on my motor.

I bet the Typhoon outflows the GT40. I bet money on it.

I've heard a lot of people unhappy with the PP intakes - alls I know is I had a carbeurated one back in the day and it was fine.

Another vote here for the GT-40. I agree that the typhon is a knockoff of the Edelbrock...and a cheap one at that. For less money, you could have the bottom of the GT-40 ported and outflow the Typhon.

I am going carbed and have a much better deal if you are interested.... Edlebrock performer upper and lower intakes already ported.

If you are interested, it flows better than a ported GT-40 AND the PP crap-off.

Two of the same intakes..one FMS and one is edelbrock. Which one is a "knock off" of the other? Who cares! The ony detereminig factor to me would be performance and cost. The typhoon intakes from what I've see have smaller openings at the heads but longer runners. If you Gasket match them, there would be no performance difference only cost of the intakes. Hell, even the FMS and Edelbrock need to be matched as well.
Dont get hung up on name brands, all of the companys started somewere

which ever one I would get a better deal on! The GT 40's still bring some good money, but the typhon can sometimes be had cheap.
