Default Throttle Vavle Cable

Swapping in a fresher AOD in my car and want to replace my TV cable while I am at it. So far I can't find any but one from LOKAR that doesn't look like whats on the car now. KNow of any other companies making them. Part is discontinued by Ford.

with my tranny going bad the way it is, from what i read it could be part of the problem. but for the minimal cost of getting a new on it would be worth it.

Understood. But when people say the cable is the reason why the transmission went bad I think there talking about the way it was adjusted, not its condition. But i could be wrong.

/\ what he said. the adjustment makes all the difference. i have always set it with a pressure gauge just to make sure as sometimes the linkage is the problem.

the locar is the only universal aftermarket one i know of that is worth using but its expensive

Speaking of cables and adjustments... I thikn we had this same kind of issue when we purchased a tranny for my Uncle's '96 GT - but we think we've got it fingered out now. Just gotta get the time to make the adjustment.

We had to replace the linkage on the tranny when we installed it, and put the one from the car onto it, b/c the tranny was from a newer GT, so one was round the other was square. Once we got it in, we had to change a few sensors, and the speedo gear. Got it all buttoned up and then the tranny would shift AWESOME under full-throttle and manually shifting, but then with it just in "D" it would over-rev going into OD. Talked to the guy from PA down at NMRA, and he told us to adjust the line pressure at the linkage. He thought we should've known about that, lol... Damn rookies
