99 gt rear end in 99 v6?

Default 99 gt rear end in 99 v6?

I know its a direct bolt in minus a few extra brackets .But my quistion is how would it affect gas milledge.Its a v6 5 spd T-5 transmission

Going to depend on the rear axle ratio (3.55, 3.73, 4.10, 4.30, etc)...

You're going to get piss-poor gas mileage. 4.10 gears are going to keep the motor turning at a higher rpm in every gear. The lower the numeric figure on the gear-set, the better the gas mileage & more top-end gearing/speed (ie: 3.08, 3.27, etc); the higher the numeric figure, the better acceleration and worse gas mileage (ie: 4.10, 4.30, etc).

If you're modding a car and concerned with gas mileage, maybe you should be building a Honda?

You gotta admit diablo does get right to the point...

yes the mileage will be worse, it might be a lot worse since (as I recall) the v6 has a lower first gear.

I am building a honda .This is for my step dads car we changed the oil in the rear end on his v6 and it had a ton of shapnel in it.we happen to have a gt parts car and was thinking about using the rear end.

Oh shit, lol... Well that's about the funniest thing ever... I didn't necessarily mean it literally,

But, to answer you ?'s, yes it'll work and yes gas mileage will suffer drastically.
