Default 8.8 Rear End Bushing. Solid or Poly??? Help!

Who is running upper SPHERICAL CONTROL ARM bushings on a 94-08 Mustang. I had a set of Polyurethane ones on the car and they are now shot!!! I have to replace them.

Any comments? Let me know the likes and dislikes. Recomend or not. I do a lot of daily driving and hit the 1/4 mile every now and again. Some turns involved but nothing like autocross.

I am considering the SPHERICAL, but hear they are squeaky and bring road vibration into the car. Trying to keep a smooth ride without the squeaks.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a set of Polyurethane spring isolators and they drive me insane. They crack and moan the whole way down the road. I have tried to spray them down with lethius grease and that helped for a few days and the squeaks returned again. (i'm looking to take them off and replace them with the stock rubber ones unless anyone else came across a trick that works to shut them the hell up). lol

Appreciate any feedback on either question:

Thanks,
Jaime

I would not reccommend sperical bushings on any dd car unless you are the type of person that can get used to anything because they are very noisy. The trick to keeping poly bushings and spring isolators quite is simply synthetic grease I personaly use disc brake high temp caliper grease available at any local auto parts store but any synthetic grease will work fine Chris

Mine are quiet on the street. But I have dumps right below the driver seat and passenger seat so it's hard for me to even hear myself thinking.

What brand busings do you use? I think Energy Suspension is the only company that has patented the use of poly-graphite bushings. Which from what I hear is the best to utilize.

Thanks for the info guys. And Chris I will try the synthetic grease on the spring isolators. I had a set of: Energy Suspension upper bushings on the car but they did not last that long. I am still contemplating.

Default New info

So I took a really good lookat the bushings and noticed that they would have worked out just fine had the jack a@@ that installed them rember to install the metal sleeve around them. So after time and abuse they have been smashed apart.

Anyone know if ford sells the sleeves aside from the bushings? I will be taking a trip to the dealer tomorrow to see if they sell them seperate and i'll purchase a new set or poly bushings and have them done the right way this time.

I wont say any names but damn you blue oval. !!!!

This sux, but it can and will be fixed.

That sucks. Ford should sell just the upper axle bushings and you can take out the rubber. I dont know if I would mess with trying to get them out in the boneyard. The solids might be the way to go here. The metal sleeves are already out. Just put in the new stuff.
