Default 94 Ford explorer problems

I have a 94 Ford Explorer i have had sitting in my driveway for months now due to it not wanting to stay running. I bought a new interstate battery for it and keep it disconnected while sitting. the vehicle will start no problems and no noises but will not maintain an acceptable idle and stay running it just cuts out like its being choked with air or fuel it ran perfectly fine the day i drove it from tampa and parked it in the driveway and it has sat. I can get the motor to stay running if i push the gas pedal and even move fast enough to toggle the throttle under the hood to listen for the problem. Some times it will not smoothly rev while doing this and kind of cuts out then it will rev perfectly fine and i can maintain an idle while toggling the throttle i have even attempted adjusting the idle screw under the hood it will still stall. I was thinking maybe plugs but if it's not the issue i don't want to mess with it due to it being a huge pain in the rear to change them on this.. I am wanting to sell this vehicle and am unable to do so with this happening has anyone else had one sit for a while and diagnosed the sitting problems lol... any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated thanks...

Water in fuel or fuel pump/filter.

Yup, either water (condensation) in the fuel or sediment clogging the sock on the pump and/or the filter would be my guess.

well i cleaned the filter and put 10 gals of fresh gas in pumped pedal a few times turned pump on then off and back on a couple times and it cranked up just the same but this time ran like a champ and stayed running... took her to air up tires then a few mile spin and she runs great.. Appreciate the tips definitely helped. Thanks again ...

Hmmmm, that can't be it then. Joe and I are never right. Probably need to drop in a new engine.
