Back on the Road...
Been away for awhile.... a month or so ago I had a conference to go to in Orlando... had the Cobra with me and it sat in the garage and the hotel all week. When I went to come home on the following Saturday it was idling high. It would sit at about 8-900 and then jump to 1300 and stick. Goosing the pedal did no good (even checked to make sure the floor mat wasnt on it
Once I got home I turned it off and cranked it back up and it idled fine. This lasted about a week and it did a repeat performance on my way into work one morning. At that point I took it to the shop but they couldnt get to it so I had to make another appointment. Once I finally got in there they had to replace the throttle body (good thing for ESP). Now its running like a charm.
Anyhow... just figured Id check in ...
- Fae
BTW - I was on my way home tonight and I had some kid in an older Firebird/TA come blaring past me laughing his ass off... I dropped it a gear and pulled out after him.. started gaining on him and then my stupidity wore off and I let up on the pedal... thinking to myself WTF are you doing... racing in rush hour traffic?!!? He on the other hand continued to swerve in and out of traffic until he got blocked in by a bunch of cars on the Veterans...

Glad to have you back.
I would imagine your problem was the TPS (throttle position sensor) which is related to the throttle body. They probably could have just sprayed the throttle body out with cleaner and solved the problem but they wouldnt get paid much for that. And what the hell you got a new TB out of it !
I had the ESP plan back in the day and I milked the hell out of it. Even when I was running bottle. But that is a story for another day.
Anyway all of us are trying to get the Ford forum activity up and so far so good.

Good to see you back. Speaking of ESP I got it when I bought the car then w/ in 6monthes on went Mr. Vortech so that went out the window. I had to do battle with them to have anything done. Oh well good to see you have yours running back to normal.
hehe yeah.. Im biding my time to do any major work on it until the ESP runs out.. or when the car is paid off (soon I HOPE!).
The only thing the dealership cringes on is the Steeda Tri-Ax... which makes absolutely no sense since I had it installed to STOP damage being done...
About the only thing I want to get done here in the near future is get a cat back system... I just cant decide on exactly which one.
Speaking of having stuff done... anyone know of a good shop where I can have my KB subs welded on? Theyve been sitting in my den for about a year now... well that an the Steeda Clutch Quadrant and adjustable cable. Id prefer something on Tampa side if at all possible.

You can call John Moretti at 986-7067 about any welding work. If you look at the post in this forum that says Chassis Time he is the one doing the work for me. He has done other things for me as well and the work is always top notch. He has two race cars at his shop now that is working on but I am sure he can squeeze you in. Tell him Scott sent you because this is his home number and he may screen your call first. Let me know how it works out.
Thanks bud.... but no worries on his time... Im gonna have to wait until after Christmas.. and then wait until after my son is born in January before I can justify spending money on the car.
