go to MSD website, there is a way to test it yourself.

Turn key to ON position and be sure you have 12v to the small red and large wire going to the MSD. if you have 12v on those pull coil wire and hold near a ground. Use a jumper wire and jump the 2 wires that go to the disrtibutor from the MSD. each time you jump them coil wire should thow an arc. MSD says... no arc... no good

All that stuff including the grounds are inside the wheel well...except for the box itself and the coil. Gonna try to get to work a little early and start digging them out. I'll try to get all that checked out today. Oye, I hate powertricity shit.

Is there some way that can be adapted to make a TB out of it? Can I just rig up a TPS to the butterfly? That would make a nice big TB hanging on the end of my intake.

OK, update...still not working. Not getting spark still. Did the MSD test by shorting out the white wire. No spark but the box makes a little squeeling sound. (mouse trapped inside?) .I bypassed the MSD box...still nothing. Now what? I brought in my stock coil today to try bypassing everything that says MSD. I think I have the MSD BSOD.

Well fuck me! I jumpered in the old stock coil in place of the nice, pretty MSD fancy schmancy one and the car fired right up. I guess the MSD box is OK but the coil took this opportunity to take a fatal dump. Either that or there is a broken wire/bad connection somewhere that jiggled into place with all the jumpering and moving things around. Next break, I'll hook the MSD coil back up and try the wiggle test if it doesn't work.

op cit (powertricity hateness)

'Cause the MSD trouble shooting gizmo said to short that for points and TFI or to jumper the green and violet for magnetic pickup. The white wire [i]is[/] used for Ford TFI and the violet and green isn't used. At least it's used on the Fox, not sure about later models...haven't had any of them.
