Im pretty sure you can pull up on the clutch pedal and this is supposed to automatically adjust the the clutch pedal. I know it was like this with the 96 V6 Mustangs. Look in your factory manual if you have one.

nope and i tried it a milloon times--followed the step by step instructions in the owners manual and all....i looked at the whole linkage and it doesnt seem to be too terribly loose but the clutch doesnt release till the pedal is on the floor---it used to release afer pushing the pedal down like an inch...so it must of come loose somehow....

If you do not hear the pedal making any ratcheting sounds you are beyond adjustment I am sorry to say. You may have stretched your clutch cable. Putting in the adjustable one may or may not solve your problem. I would hate to hear that you spent money on a new adj. clutch cable and still had to replace the clutch.
nah i would just take it to ford and say fix it---theyre pretty good about replacing defective parts----you still have to pay for labor but they will usually fix a part that has failed if it has failed prematurely....
ill toy with it this weekend and if i cant figure it out ill just take it down to james at race related and see what he thinks.....and then ill steal his cobra cuz that bitch is bad....
p.s. i dont think the clutch is over adjusted cuz i have never adjusted it before and have owned the car since 20k----
