the 96 to 98 cobras. the cams shafts and cylinder heads. are they better then the ones in the gts? and if so would they be a good swap mod to gain to get some horses. they are both 4.6s. i would just like to know if you can take some cobra parts and put them on gts and get any power from it.

I havent heard of anyone doing a head swap with a cobra but how knows you could be the 1st and end up getting huge gains. But if anything I would just get some 99+ heads and get them p&p and get a 99+ cam I know a lot of people are picking up good power from that swap. I actualy witnessed someone pick up 43rwhp from just a head swap w/ out them p&p.
you can swap the cobra heads and intake to the 4.6 2v talk to mr hyland--- www.seanhylandmotorsport.com they have done it but your better off with a cobra motor---they have the forged crank and aluminum six bolt main block---plus im sure all the hassle of swapping the heads cams intake and re arranging all of the connections would be more trouble than its worth... but FYI it can be done... check it out-- www.seanhylandmotorsport.com/modsquad.html

I would not waste the time nor money on the Cobra stuff. And most of all you would probably have one hell of a time finding the heads anyway. Go with a good set of aftermarket heads. The Cobra heads are alright but still very restrictive compared to a good set of aftermarket heads. And it is not suggested to port and polish the heads because the fuel will not atomize properly. The fuel will fall in drops instead of a mist. There are a couple sets of heads out now but several of the big companies are getting ready to come out with more. For the money you could slap on a blower or put on a N.O.S. kit with electronics and do much better. I can put you in touch with a very good Ford person if you want help with any of the installs. He has been doing it for 15 years. Let me know.
