Default paint help

the guy who owned my car before me put these damn black strips on the door i guess they are for protection of some sort? but the awesome florida heat has melted the adhesive that held the strips on and they are starting to fall off but the tar like adhesive is still on the car..

how can i safely remove all of this tar like glue?

it's the black strip on the edge of the door..

Tried claying it? The solution with some clay might just be able to whipe it off.

Mineral spirits, alcohol, kerosene, etc. Most will work slightly but when you hit the right one its gone quick and clean.
