Ranger with lightning engine

My friend has a 96 ford ranger and he wants to swap out his 4 cyl. engine for a lighting one. Is this a possible swap? I would think the engine would be to big for his engine bay. I say he should go with the 6 cyl. ranger engine or maybe some other engine that would work good with his car. Any suggestions?

I personaly think that it cant be done but if someone said that it can be maybe it can. If you do want to do it I have a lightning engine chilling in my garge.

I believe there is a company that makes a kit with all the motor mounts and whatnot to put a 302 or 351 into a Ranger.

I dont think there is any way you could pay a reasonable amount of money to put a new Lightning motor into a Ranger. As for the older 351 which use to come in the Lightnings that shouldnt be a problem. Boost is right youll be able to go faster for less money with a 302 or 351 derivative.
