Boss blocks have short cyclinders that limit stroke compared to the Dart blocks?

Oh yea, you will need a special Oil pan to fit around those mains too.
yea...pans are hard to come by when you have 4 bolts on all 5 mains.

odd size came bearings and cam plug on the sportsman. came with a flat deck and good align hone.

Someone who knows for sure should chime in.

you're absolutly right...i had to take the whole damn thing back apart and grind the hell outta something in the lifter valley

ALSO the lifter bosses seemed short. with stock type dog bones the cam just wanted to start to lift up the bones at max lift. they really need link-bar type lifters

Also, a stock oil pan will fit the BOSS302.

BOSS302 ftw.

What are the benefits of a screw in freeze plug? Do they strengthen the block?

Have you ever heard of a freeze plug leaking,or popping out?

I don't know if they "strengthen" the block, but you will never have one pop out.I know a few guys making big power with push in plugs, but they all have little braces made to hold the sides of the plugs from moving out.Its a nice feature to have, just a added insurance for free with the boss block.I think a average machine shop would charge around $300.00 to install them on a bare block.

Call dss and ask them why they install them in there leval 20 blocks,Its been awhile I forgot what they said.

Yah, I know they pop out, there suppose too. right? lol jfwy
Your response makes sense, With casting flex or core shift, a push-in has the possibilty to come out. In a sense, then a screw in would tie things together better, Thanks
