replacing ignition lock cylinder

Default replacing ignition lock cylinder

i dont feel like paying someone almost 300 dollars to throw a new one in, i lost my keys on a trip i recently was on and I had no spare (my own fault)

How do you get that thing out of there? what tools are needed?

if you dont have a key, you need to drill out the pin that holds the cylinder in. after that you rotate the cylinder and pull it out

i have a column you can buy for $25, you can harvest the cylinder and mechanism out of it. i'll show you what to do.

here give me a number to get ahold of you at. my brother is a locksmith and had to do this with my bike already and has all the right tools for the job with out breaking anything. and he wont charge ya 300 buck's, shit like that only take's a few minutes.

i managed to get it out after much time in the driveway. average temperature about 100 degrees. funfun

it's only 4 bolts to get the lock mechanism out, what the hell took so long?
