Default Is there a DIY for smoking oem headlights?

I don't own a mustang but my lil bro does and he wants to smoke his headlight(inside not the glass)... Has anyone done this or have access to a DIY on how to do it... Its much different than the Volkswagen headlights I've done... Any help is appreciated!

Thanks,
Justin

imagine it would be about the same as when i did my focus. heated them up in the oven. pulled them apart. painted black. reglued. done.

don't think it would work on a fox though. theres always laminx for the glass for a smoked look

I belive most of the ones you see have projectors or HIDs or something. I dont think you really could do with a fox mustang headlight without really seriously hindering light output cause most of the inside is reflective covered.

What year Mustang? The only years where you could do this and it would make a dramatic difference would be the 99-up. I think they were chrome up until late 2000 or 2001 when Ford switched to black housings.

Foxbodies and early SN95s don't have clear lenses, so you really wouldn't be able to tell you spent all those hours pulling off the lenses and painting the interior housings black.
