Default Front Calipers

How hard is it to replace the front calipers on a 2001 Ford Mustang.....I took it to the shop and they said the rotor inside was oval not round like it should be and to fix both front calipers it would be $399.99. Should I get it done at the shop or would it be easier/cheaper to do it myself?

Seems a little high. Depends on how much he is charging you for parts. The hardest part about doing calipers is bleeding them. And all you need to do that is get a buddy to come help you.

heres a simple rule of thumb if its calipers. Inside pad worn or gone then Calipers are bad (not releasing), outside pad worn then its the sliders, hardware, Might need a little grease on contact points (calipers float and need to be able to slide back and forth), even wear then its just pads.

For that price you could upgrade to Cobra brakes.
