So, I've got a 92 Explorer that has a bad tranny.
I made a few calls to a few buddies of mine and it seems that this is a common problem.
Do the trannys just wear out? Do they just need rebuilt, or are they toast?
I called my buddy and he says that every Explorer in that generation they get in at their junkyard has a bad tranny.

Also, any suggestions as to where to get a good tranny?

 

I have one from a 98? 4.0 ohv

 

I'll look and see if it is the same... I don't want to have to fight it to make it work, ya know...
