Default Auto aftermarket Shifter help

I'm only able to find one aftermarket shifter for a AODE/4R70W tranny and that is the B&M Hammer Shifte. I don't like it and I don't want to run a stock shifter either. I don't expect the shifter to do anything special except make me enjoy the sight and feel of it which I won't get with the two I just mentioned. With that said, here is a link to the Hammer shifter on Summits site: B&M 81001 - B&M Hammer Shifters - summitracing.com Here's the part # if the link doesn't work: B&M 81001

I called up B&M to see if there was a way to modify a shifter that I liked better to work and the guy on the other end either thought I was stupid and didn't want to help or didn't know how to if there was/is a way to do it.

Who could I call that knows enough about an aode/4r70w that could lead me in the right direction of reworking/tweaking a shifter/linkage I like to work with my tranny?

I thought maybe B&M was the answer but after being on hold for 30min no exageration and being told to pack sand, I gotta back up and regroup.

Maybe try "Slow Pokes" tranny guy down in Sebring? Seems that he was a fair and honest business man in Mitch's transaction there

They make others. We have one similar to that B&M one but it has a smaller handle and just says GT on it. We will be selling it in a few weeks after we do a tranny swap to the car. Figure $75 because you gave me a really good deal on that back bumper cover for my car.

Doesnt Hurst make one for these tranny's?

I suppose it's worth a try. Thanks bro

Thanks Hurst, but I really want to try to make a different style of shifter work similar to a B&M Pro Stick Composite X, Hard Core Street Bandit, or Magnum Grip Street bandit, or some others that are similar out there.

Hah, that's what I thought too. The B&M "Tech" said I'd leak fluid everywhere...... I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and start learning the ins and outs of a tranny so I can do it myself.

Exactly

And coming from a B&M "Tech"... I was already starting to see that I was going nowhere fast.

The only thing that I can think of, and again (I know very little about the aode (trannies in general) is that what he was saying is going with another shifter would require me to change the lever assembly at the tranny to another type or something...

I've found one company that appears to have something for an aode and I have emailed them, but other than that, I have searched and searched, to only find the B&M Hammer and like Hurst said of a shifter from "Hurst"

yea... but i assume he needs a aftermarket shifter that reads (shifts) 1,2,3,OD with the full manual v-body.
