Should i do it??
true well i found a 91 dodge spirit for 1000, it has 75K miles, ice cold ac and it seems to shift fine, i seen it but he didnt let me drive it because i am 17 but he will when i have the money, which should be in a couple days... so i might do that...
think of it this way....buy it for 950 if it runs ok......if it last 12 months and dies.....buy another shit box...where else are you going to buy a car that cost under 100 bux a month??? check out craiglist....i got a 93 accord for my 18 yr old daughter...with a rebuilt trans for 1k...runs awesome.....and has cold air!!! it leaks a little oil...but again...if the car last one year and dies...fuck it....jump into another
This is true....I always look at a $1000 car like this: I COULD buy a car from a lot and pay $250 or more per month plus full coverage insurance which if you do the math comes up to 4 months of payments....If a $1000 car lasts longer than 4 months, then it was well worth it. If not, then it wasn't. Most of the $1000-$1500 cars I have bought in the past have lasted at least a year. Most of them I sold before they broke, but always after a year or so. Cheap rent. Try to lease a car for those prices. if you pay $1000 for it and it lasts longer than 12 months, it was less than $100 per month. Again, try to lease or rent a car for that. But....the thing needs to last at least 12 months without repairs to make it worth it. Otherwise, it might be better to buy new depending on your credit and downpayment.
well i already got a car... a 1991 oldsmobile calais sl... its ok, it has ac.. but it shakes at a low rpm and when cruising at like 30-40 and given little gas... my guess is motor mounts, but i dont know a whole lot about front wheel drive cars...
Get used to it.
