Default Q: Fox wheel size

Anyone ever run a 10" wheel on the back of a Fox?

Thinking about converting to 5 lug axles using ranger axles. Would a 15x10 with a 6.5" BS work? What about a 15x9 wheel? 5.5 BS or 5.75 BS? Have no problem rolling the fenders if need be.

Also,.. if running a 10" wheel would a 275/50 tire work? Or would a 275/60 be too tall?

A 10" wheel is possible with that 6.5" backspace. Just need to do a little massaging (big freaking hammer) on the inner fenderwells.

You can go as wide as a 325 but a 275/60/15 fits a 10" wheel nicely too.

I went with the Ford Racing 31 spline 5 lug axles ,with North Race Cars brackets that let you use Cobra rear disc with a stock Fox legth axle. I have 18 X 9 FR500 wheels with a 6.1?? back spacing with 275/35 BFG rubber. It has C springs and does not rub. I had to massage the inside front corners. The wheels actually measure 10" from the outside edges. It is stuffed but it fits.

I'm going to try the 15x10's back there with 6.5" BS. I know it works great on SN95 cars. But they have a little more fender to play with.

The Fox 8.8 axles are .75" narrower then SN95 axles which will put the wheel closer to the inner fender. I know the quad shocks will with out a doubt have to be tossed. Not a problem,.. have a Mac upper and lower kit in a box for the rear anyway.

Problem is which tire size. I'm pretty sure a 275/50/15 will fit with out any issues. The 275/60 makes me nervous. The car has Eibach Sport Line springs on it right now running 17x9 Cobra rims on 245/45 tires. (Rubs like hell up front) The car sits too low for my tastes. I will probably take the springs off the 86 GT and cut them until I get the right ride height and hopefully the tires wont rub or I can beat enough fender out of the way to make it work.

Thanks guys.

Yes, I have alot of pics. I wanted to put it into the Projects threads, but I'm to big of a dumb ass to figure out how to post pics on TR. If you have an email I can send pics, maybe you can help me get it figured out on how to do this. Right now its PFM.

Any way,

thanks,

Ben
