347 and cooling
thats what I thought but I wanted to make sure before I spend a ton of money. Im going to be buying the stroker kit from summit in like two months and then im hoping about two months after that Ill get some GT40 heads and PNP them.
347 CHP .030 block with aluminum heads - synthetic oil used.
>>> Using 3 core OE style radiator, 180 degree thermostat, water wetter, distilled water and factory fan-clutched fan blade ... runs too cool.
Going to try electric fan this spring/summer to get temp up closer to 190 ... makes 'puter happy and A/F mixture should be better then.
PM if any info needed

It never ran hot with the 302 in it, but so many things changed with the 347. I changed everything internal and even used a different block, so we could point our fingers at many different things.... $hawn also pulled the water pump off, for it's newest owner. He found that the pump was spinning the right way, but that the fins were backwards... Freaking after market parts!

And you're probably the only guy on this site that knows that

yeah, but it makes finding water pumps hard. im pretty much stuck with cast iron police water pumps, as the good aftermarket pumps are not available as standard rotatiopn pumps

What would you need to do to run a reverse rotation pump?
