valve clearance tolerance question

Default valve clearance tolerance question

whats the allowable tolerance? i mocked mine up with putty and i have about .080 between the intake valve and the pistion at the thinnest spot. is this cool?

the smallest clearance I run is .100
May be a little conservative,but that is how I was taught years ago.

Donnie 80 is by far the least you can go IMO. The ranger has a little less then 80 on the exhaust side but have yet to have a problem. *knocksonwood*

i didnt even check the exhaust yet. i only made one solid lifter and didnt feel like doin the other side. it was too late and i was obviously sedated. i should prolly check that ay?

I put my motor together and just started it up..... I don't think anything hit and it still runs good so there must be enough clearance.....

its a different story at 7k ay?

i still havent checked my springs.
