Installing new rotors.

Are they suppose to be kinda tight at first, then loosed up? THe old ones spin alot more freely than the new ones.

 

You need to bed the new pads into the rotors first

 

Pads/cal;ipers are not on yet. Im just saying, rotors alone. I spin the new ones and they rotate one turn, the old ones spin around a few times.

 

if no caliper/pad on yet then the rotors would have nothing to do with how the spindle turns as they just mount on the studs.. the hub is the only place you would have friction.

Only thing I could think that might change the amount one will spin freely is that the new rotor is a diffrent weight then the old one so the change in mass changes the forces. Either way long as your bearing in the hub are fine you should be good to go.

 

i assume they are non-floating rotors, what procedure did you use to tighten them? i think you have them too tight.

 

if its the old style with a cotter pin and stuff, you tighten them till all the play is gone and call it good. put the cage on and stick the cotter pin thru

 

I got it, the grease just needed to work its way out some. Hopefully my wheels wont fall off, never changed rotors before.
