another stupid question sorry.
Actually, it might... considering that they make the 4 valve Volvo (or is Saab, I don't remember at this moment) anyways, I might work with some modifications... but I do not know for sure at this moment... give me a few and I will get back to you...
Anything will fit. All you need is money to make it work.
That was a DOHC Volvo head. From what I recall it will bolt onto the 2.3l with minor modifications. Dave (Just_Dave) pulled one from a U-Pull-It about a year ago. He ended up selling the head before attempting the install but he did quite a bit of research on the swap. Perhaps he will chime in.

There's no minor modifications on the Volvo head deal. It does "fit" bolt pattern wise and the combustion chambers are only a few thousandths off, but that's the end of "fit". Then it's fab city.

Hell if you want to stay with the ford type of stuff just move to the 2.0 kent with a dohc cosworth head. Built for ford by cossworth.
There is one cat out there running freeze plugs on the deck side of the block where the volvo head stops short and an external oil feed. I think he's done a couple of thousand miles on it so far.
Kinda cool, but you'd still have to figure out belt routing and intake/exhaust manifolds. And that head really doesn't weight that much less than the iron .

The swap I saw the guy used a block welded to the back of the head and plumbed it into the cooling system.
