My T&T Sucked The Big One Tonight !
I think I am catching up on not having any bad luck at the track the prior 14 years I went especially since the last two trips down there were so good.
The night started out good with a good wheel stand ( TJ said it carried the left about 30 feet out / 1.4 60 ft. ) and was tracking straight as a arrow as usual when all of the sudden it made a little move to the center and I got out for a split second which killed the otherwise great run. It still went a 9.6 but only at 138.
Next run came out of the hole and the car was super rich / sluggish and would not build boost, trans temp jumped way up all the sudden, shit run.
Last try the car came out sluggish again trans temp spiked, abort.
Got back to the trailer to find the trans leaking fluid, great !
Got home pulled the plugs and every one of them were wet and black, wtf.. After a few minutes I found the gasket that goes between the bonnet and the carb blown out and missing ! Granted it is a cheap paper gasket. So this explains the rich condition since there was no seal to the carb and bonnet and fuel was not being metered properly. I at least feel better that I know why the car was down on power on the second and third runs. Not to mention the bad plugs.
Now it is time to evaluate my options on the trans. front.. I knew my C4 was not going to make it long considering I am putting almost double the TQ it is capable of handling on it but damn I did not think it would come this quick. Probably going to go with a glide and let it eat.
And we do this for fun ?

Upon further review I do not think the trans is roasted, it just got hot and I think the heat was due to the motor not coming up on power and locking down the converter. All of this from a $2.00 bonnet gasket. At least that is what it is looking like thus far.

No not tweaking much at all. When we scaled it, it was damn near perfect as it sat and was never adjusted with scales before. I just do not know how much the right side got up because my friend was standing on the drivers side. It felt and looked pretty even in the car.
