Anyone here live in the Tampa area and have a valid NHRA Competition License ?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My friends at BMP told me the last time I was there it was time for me to get my competition license given my e.t's..
Since I do not want to make any issues for the track and be legal out there I want to get this completed soon. I have all the paperwork and as required I need to have a current licensed person at the track with me to do my license runs.
So who lives in the Tampa / Bradenton area that could come down with me sometime late December or early January ?
I would suggest anyone going 9.99 or faster or 135 in the 1/4 or faster go get their license because the track is really going to start enforcing it. If anyone else wants to get their license soon let me know and maybe we can get a few knocked out in one day.

Scott, they don't enforce the comp licence rule....I can think of 20 people that don't have theirs off the top of my head. Do you technically need it, Yes you also need a parachute, and a window net, pants, jacket, gloves,
Do they enforce it or even check hell no.
If your not going to run national events don't worry about it, and even then they don't check.
all they look for in tech is your cage certified.

I am certain I could get away with it at BMP since I know everyone there well but since they asked I am going to respect that and do so. Just because one knows they can get away with something does not make it right.
And tracks like Gainesville do check and will no hesitate to boot you.
I might try and run in a few things next year and I want to do it the right way.

Its pretty easy to get
you can do it at sunshine if you don't feel like driving to BMP
if you read or have seen a licence run their "supposed" to blind fold you and make you reach all the safety equipment in your car..........they don't do that ether.
You honestly don't need it, but if you are going to go get it, its really easy to get and good luck
I have the forms.
I need to do this at a 1/4 mile track.
Do a few half passes, a few mild full passes, and two all out passes.
All with another licensee and track manager present.
Then you have to have a NHRA mandated physical and send it all in.

you have to go to each timing mark on the track, and then i believe 2 all out pass.....and another licenced driver doesn't have to be their, I'm just giving you advice from first hand knowledge...not trying to be a pain in the pass
actually the rules are stated as having a track manager or on duty track official.

YES I'm well aware of the rules, but do people go by the rules....no
The only reason the two other licensed drivers are needed for is to sign the form, that's all.
If Scott knows two other licensed drivers that will sign the form, theirs no need for them to be their..
