New carb = no A/C
This weekend we replaced my defunct 4180 with a Holley 570 Street Avenger. The new Holly does not have provisions for the A/C throttle compensator that was on the old carburator (a plunger type solonoid that bumps the throttle when the A/C is turned on). I was advised this wouldn't be an issue so we tucked away the unused/unplugged harness to this compensator.
As it sits right now the A/C compressor will no longer click on. Does it require the harness to be plugged into the throttle compensator to complete a circuit? Is there any way around this?

It is that solenoid thing...needs to be plugged in or else it won't complete the circuit. I was told I could "jump it". I may just remove the solenoid from the stock carb, plug it into the harness, and tuck it away somewhere safe until I can figure out the proper way to complete the circuit without risking a toasty Mustang.

Cut the connector off and crimp the 2 wires together.
Si senor. I took the old solenoid bracket w/the WOT switch and temporarily hooked it up to the car. Fixed the problem. Connector will be jumped shortly
There is so much extra shit hanging around in my engine compartment with all the emissions and various other shit removed. Need to do something about this wiring and all the various unneeded vacuum shit...it just looks bloody awful and it is a pain in the ass to work on anything under the hood. Need to take a long weekend tracing everything down and eliminating what is no longer needed.

We'll delve into that on the weekend. Did the same thing to the 240 one day, it has no emissions garbage on it anymore and as a result, it runs much better. Amazing what eliminating 20 miles of rotting vacuum lines will do.
