I liked them back in the day but would be scared to own one now. Good luck with it.

i like them but they are such a pain in the ass to work on. pretty quick for such a tank and there is a decent aftermarket for them. good luck.

i never cared too much for the SC, just because the small amount of power advantage they had over the LX was rarely worth the trouble and expense of working on them. The SC did offer many other advantages though, the seats, the active ride control(which WAS available on the LX), the 4 wheel ABS w traction control and the bigger sway bars.
A decent choice, and lest we forget the 5 speed...i say dump that and install a t56 or t45, port the supercharger, and do all the other bolt ons. Just be prepared to pay for them...

well i am not getting rid of the stick... this is the first one i have seen like this and it is really rare... and i never heard of the traction control being available in the lx models, v6 or v8, and i know a whole lot about thunderbirds....

please trust me on this one, i remember you pming me about a year ago asking me if i could help you with ur old tbird, and what kind of mods you should do to it, and a whole bunch of other mn12 platform related questions. And the reason i know tbird lx's came with traction control is two of the three i owned had traction control. In the center console, the button that is normally the trunk release is the traction control on/off button.

And hey tbird genius, the t45 and t56 are both manual trannys, t45 is a five speed, the t56 is a six speed...
