Default Itching for boost

I used to have an 03 cobra with the bolt on works and ran at about 500 whp. I since sold that and bought a condo like a responsible young man and I bought an 06 f150 supercrew. I am DIEING for some speed, boost in particular. It is a 4.6l V8 06 4 door SuperCrew. It is ALL STOCK. I don't have a budget in mind yet just looking for some kits that would work on my truck. I looked into some supercharging ideas but I dont know if I want to go that route. I already had a blower and it was awesome but there is something about a little bit of lag and then a kick in the ass that makes me all chumy. So has anyone ever done a turbo rig on this truck and where did you get it from and where would it get installed? I had race related do all of my other work on my cobra and it was a good deal. What other mods would I need for a moderate kit pushing 400+ to the wheels aside from exhaust. Thanks for the input.

Joe

I have 2 mustangs that are turbo. One with twins, the other a single. If I had your truck and was thinking of a turbo my first mod would be another truck to drive for when the turbo ford is broken or on jack stands.

If 400 is the max goal.. but beyond that... better save up... then start saving for a tranny.. etc.. etc... ahh heck.. by that time you will have a new truck..

you should stick with a twin screw blower....but, turbo, I would say go talk to Sam at Coastal Dyno; he's the 4.6 turbo man...

I don't know much about trucks. But Sam @ Coastal does turbo setups all the time. If thats what you are wanting. I think it's TJ that does the welding and those welds are pretty damn nice.

I'm not trying to bash you, but i have a question or questions. Did you have both vehicles at the same time? Or you sold the cobra for the truck? If so aren't those truck a pretty penny? And don't they use a crap load of gas? If you got it for work or something i can see that being a good choice. But i'm just a little confused why you sold such a good platform for going fast...and now you want to go fast....
