Default steering columns

When switching from a non air bag to one with an airbag, do I need the whole deal, from the steering shaft to the column or just the coulmn itself?

Good question - I'd like to know also. And/Or could we just use the steering wheel itself to get the late model look?

You need the whole column itself..... The one with the air bag is approx 3/4" shorter on the end the steering wheel attaches the the one without the air bag..... I just went through all that crap when I was working on my 88 Notch with a 91 interior and wiring harness..... They do attach to the steering shaft the same way and place on the engine compartment side of the firewall.....
