Lightbulb <<<<Lincoln 4.6 Aftermaket>>>>

Ok i have a 95 lincoln town car, obviously 4.6l EFI SOCH motor, low ass output lol. so far all i have done is have nice quiet custom duals hung. i NEED help finding some other stuff for it that i want.

does anyone know where i can find a REAL air intake, to get rid of the "cosmetic" engine cover, and a bit more air flow? and what about a Throttle body spacer? basic, and a bit noisy, but i want to free up a bit more MPG.

note : THIS IS NOT FOR PERFORMANCE! I KNOW THIS CAR WILL NEVER BE FAST, SO PLEASE DO NOT CRUCIFY ME.(ALSO OWN A 300SRT8

anyways, i also want to know if you can really simply swap out computers with a GT mustang 4.6, like 94-98, as someone told me. i doubt it, but i would appreciate the timing programming and other benefits. like shift issues and such.

my car is fresh, ring right, and i want it to get a bit better mileage. any help??? thanks

no one makes a cold air intake for that. that has the old style all metal intake right?if so, replace it with a NPI plastic intake with the aluminum crossover. with that motor your best bet is a set of gears and under drives. anything else and you just waste your money.

careful with PI heads on a NPI motor. it will put your compression to around 10.5:1 my stock 9:1 compression 4.6 detonates on anything less than 89 octane, thats even with a 180 t-stat

I thought it stays that way with PI heads and intake with NPI cams if I am right?

As long as you change over to all PI stuff, HCI, the motor is the same compression as 99+ GT's right?

No ford played around with the compression when they changed to the PI heads. I cant remember if they changed the dish size of the pistons or the size of the combustion chambers of the heads but Duceanahalf is right it will put the compression to about 10.5 to 1. So in performance terms you actually make more power swapping a non PI motor to PI specs. That is actually one reason you gain so much more horserpower from doing the PI swap.
