Stock or performance block?
Stock or performance block?
Wanna build a 347 from the ground up, Id like to save money when I can, would it be a bad idea to go with a new factory spec steel block from summit racing? I should I save up and shell out the dough for a good (dart, boss 302) block.
If you have the money drop it on a dart block. You limit on the stock block is about 600 hp and that's pushin it.
But you really gotta sit back and ask yourself what your goal is. Then go from there.

+1 ,even a D.S.S would be good, but if your going for around 450whp you should be allright for awhile.
SVO R block user here. So far so good.
Ford now has a Boss block out that is a upgrade to the R block.
