Default 4.6L help please

i've been chasing this phantom coolant smell around for about 2 months with my 98gt with no luck in finding where the heck its coming from. well my luck has finally changed and i have found it. its on the passenger side right behind the last spark plug nearest the firewall. i saw just alittle puddle sitting on the top of the head of coolant no bigger than the size of a dime. so now im a bit concerned. wtf could it be? maybe as something as easy as a gasket going bad, or maybe something far worse?

any thoughts guys, your opinions would be gratefully appreciated..

has your intake been replaced with one with an aluminum crossover? my aluminum crossover intake, the heater hose barb back there is all plastic, where the original was a metal pipe. maybe the pipe has cracked

Yup stock 4.6L plastic intake manifold = POS. Not positive but won't Ford fix that under warranty? I remember they extended the warranty on the intake manifold but I think you really have to fight them to do it.

Are you actually losing coolant? Do you have to fill it? The drain for the AC is in the same area and can drip on the exhaust.

Default I have a used metal crossover intake for the 96-98 mustang

I see a lot of those break and the metal crossover intake is the only way to fix it.I have a used metal crossover intake for that mustang that fits 96-98 mustangs or if you are looking for an upgrade I have a complete PI heads and intake that I can sell you.
